Canadian pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin stands out today as one of the most important musicians of his generation. He was silver medalist and laureate of the Krystian Zimerman Prize at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw and won second prize at the 2014 Montreal International Musical Competition. He has appeared in numerous prestigious festivals and as soloist with more than fifty ensembles including the major symphony orchestras in Canada. To date he has recorded over ten albums featuring the works of Chopin, Beethoven and Mozart, including both Chopin piano concertos with the Orchestre Symphonique do Montreal conducted by Kent Nagano. His recordings have earned several Felix (ADISQ) awards, a JUNO award in 2022, and widespread acclaim from critics around the world.
