LARRY (19 + only)

Picking up from her 2019 international tour, award-winning Canadian Clown Artist Candice Roberts assumes her alter ego Larry in a comedic piece about a dude who attempts to be a woke feminist without compromising his masculinity.

Roberts uses LARRY to explore her experiences growing up as a female in rural BC, Canada in the 1980s. Culled from the socially dominant, homophobic male archetypes that surrounded her during her upbringing, Larry helps her compassionately and hilariously examine the limitations of the gender binary, and the complexity of what it means to be human.

“This superior, adult-oriented clowning comedy is far deeper than it first appears. It’s funny, weird and telling — with something important to say.”- Orlando Sentinel  https://www.orlandosentinel.com

“Robert’s is a PRO Clown- she nails it in a way that had me GUT laughing for the entire performance.”- Riot Mueller, New Orleans Box Office https://www.theneworleansboxoffice.com/post/thursday-night-at-infringe

“I don’t transcend in the theatre on a regular basis, but Larry opened me up and took me to a higher plane. Roberts’s clowning technique is first-rate — once she gets you laughing, she will not f***ing let up.”- Colin Thomas - Simply the Best of 2019 https://mailchi.mp/telus/fresh-sheet-simply-the-best-2019-fq5u26daj7?fbclid=IwAR2oMOnzTREhkG_5LK-5RZjBpACYPuGDRVhWzbuXcYswKuojwLfWEciE71c
