Embark on an Exotic Journey with Global Rhythms

Be awed by the enthralling power of west African-inspired RhythmDance, fusing percussion, drumming and dance into one mesmerizing spectacle. Experience the passion of Spanish flare with the unmistakable composure, palmas and percussive footwork of Flamenco that commands your attention. Be enchanted by the fluidity of the ancient belly dances of Egypt, delivered with indisputable grace and charisma sure to delight the senses.

Three of Nelson’s finest global dance instructors, Sarah MacGregor, Corrine Bundschuh and Marilyn Hatfield have joined forces to craft Nelson’s first Global Rhythms Dance Showcase on Saturday, June 8, 7:30pm at the Capitol Theatre in Nelson. This spirited trio has skillfully designed an intriguing evening of traditional and original music and choreography for your enjoyment. With support from the Nelson and District Arts Council, this collaborative cultural dance extravaganza will feature lively performances by the directors and students of their respective dance schools: Kesavah Bellydance, Miss Corrine’s School of Dance and Marilyn’s House of Rhythm and Dance.

Leading up to this family-friendly event, these dance mavens invite you to attend FREE dance classes in the respective styles of Bellydance, Flamenco and RhythmDance on Saturday May 25, from 2pm-5pm at Bloom located at 198 Baker St.
