This year will mark the 100th Anniversary of the Kootenay Kiltie Pipe Band of Nelson BC!!

Formed just after WW1, the Kootenay Kilties have contributed to the history of Nelson and its surrounding communities for well into four generations. Whether leading a parade on Baker Street, performing at Canada Day celebrations, playing at special community events or just practicing outside, the sound of bagpipes and drums has enriched the culture and history of Nelson for ten decades!

The audience will be entertained by big groups, small ensembles and soloists providing a wide variety of Scottish music along with Highland and National dances. The concert will begin with the Kootenay Kilties playing the inspiring "Highland Cathedral." The audience will feel the history as the band plays through a set of toe-tapping tunes. Joining the Kilties will be the Trail Pipe Band, the B. McJones Highland Dancers, the Scottie School fo Highland Dance, and fiddler Brie Hurlbert.

The finale will have everyone on stage in a rousing finish to the concert with some musical surprises and old favourites.

Come celebrate the Kootenay Kiltie Centennial!!
