Nelson Overture Concert Series

Season package (all four Overture Concert performances): $100 Single show: $27.50 Admission free for 18 and under. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Monashee Winds, clarinet, oboe and bassoon

Monashee Winds is composed of Nicola Everton, clarinet, well known to Nelson audiences, Karinen Doucette, bassoon and Akane Setiawan, oboe. Everton has 20 years experience with the Vancouver Symphony. Doucette has played with the Calgary Philharmonic and Setiawan with the Vancouver Symphony. All are currently with the Okanogan Symphony.

Akane Setiawan, oboe, is from Kyoto, Japan and has resided in Vernon B.C. since 2013. She has a BA in music from Boston Consevatory and an MA from The New England Conservatory. She has performed with the Vancouver Symphony, Okanogan Symphony, and the Kamloops Symphony.

Nicola Everton, clarinet, has a Bachelor of Music from the Curtis Institute, in Philadelphia. She has 20 years experience with the Vancouver Symphony, and currently is a member of the Okanogan Symphony.

Karinen Doucette, bassoon, has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Calgary and a Master of Music from Baylor University. She is principal bassoonist with the Okanagan Symphony and has played with the Red Deer Symphony, and the Calgary Philharmonic. She also has a lot of chamber music experience.
